    Nodes & Signals

    Sources

Sources are where signals originate. Lead with live audio DSP — beat, key, spectral bands, envelope, and transients — plus time, timecode, and external MIDI/OSC/DMX/API inputs.

    Beat & key

    BPM & beats

Detected tempo as a F32, plus per-beat counts and a Beat Trigger that fires on beat subdivisions.

    Musical key

The detected key as Key (root + major/minor), with change triggers when the key shifts.

    Audio analysis

WavePhase decomposes the incoming audio into continuous values you can wire anywhere:

    • Spectral bands — low, mid, and high band magnitudes, plus overall balance, brightness, and motion.
    • Envelope — peak and RMS levels for smooth intensity following.
    • Transient impact — a spike on percussive hits, ideal for sharp strobe or accent triggers.
    • Frequency-range peak — the level within a custom frequency band you define.

    Continuous control

Spectral and envelope values are F32 0..1 — wire them straight into intensities, colours, or visual parameters.

    Accents & hits

Transients give you punchy, momentary triggers for strobes, flashes, and one-shot animations.

    Time and sequence

A Local Time source provides hour, minute, second, and a day-progress value — handy for time-of-day automation in installations and unattended shows. Sequences and timecode-driven playback are covered in Recording & Timecode.

    External I/O

MIDI, OSC, DMX input, and the HTTP/MCP API are first-class sources. See External I/O. Tier availability is on Pricing.

    Triggers from sources

Stable triggers to lead with: beat, key change, transients, and envelope/band thresholds. Feed them into a Pulse Trigger (with an optional hold time) and into counters, switches, and animators. Continue to Logic, Math & Utility to shape them.

    Show-critical clocks

Use DSP, time, timecode, MIDI, Web Control or API for looks you cannot miss. Keep a manual override on a fader or phone bank.
