    Timecode and sequence-driven lighting in WavePhase

    Live DSP follows the feed. Timecode plays a known timeline. WavePhase Pro and Studio include SMPTE timecode (MTC, Art-Net, OSC). Sequences can still run from an internal clock when you do not have a tape machine.

    Follows whatever is in the feed. Right for booth nights. Wrong as the only clock for a synced video cue.

    Setup and failure modes

    • One clock owner

      Decide whether WavePhase chases MTC, Art-Net timecode or OSC time. Two clocks on one show is how looks drift.

    • Frame rate match

      30 vs 29.97 vs 25 will slip. Match the video department before you author the sequence.

    • Kill still wins

      Timecode does not replace a blackout pad. When the tape jumps, you still need hands.

    Limitations and transparency

    A dirty or dropped timecode feed will stall or jump playback. Always keep a manual override and a DSP fallback for the encore.
