    Audio-reactive lighting from a live DSP pipeline

    WavePhase listens to a selected audio input and exposes tempo, beat, key, spectral bands, envelope, transients, and custom frequency-range levels as graph sources. You wire those values to DMX, pixels, and visuals.

    The pipeline you can actually patch

    1. 01Input: interface, loopback, or built-in — a clean feed beats a room mic.
    2. 02DSP: BPM/beat, key, spectrum/bands, envelope (peak/RMS), transients, custom frequency-range level.
    3. 03Graph: logic, math, animators, and gates turn raw values into fixture behaviour.
    4. 04Output: Art-Net/sACN, LED pixel maps, GPU visuals, OSC, Web Control.

    DSP-first workflows

    • Kick accent

      Transient impact into a Pulse Trigger with hold, then into strobe or a one-shot animator.

    • Bass-driven dimmer

      Low-band magnitude into intensity, optionally smoothed with envelope so the wash breathes with the mix.

    • Beat-locked motion

      Beat Trigger advances a counter or animator so chases stay on tempo without a sequenced timeline.

    • Key-aware colour

      Detected key as a graph value for palette shifts — useful, not a claim of musical understanding beyond the detector.

    Limitations and transparency

    Always validate latency and looks on your machine and rig. A direct mixer feed or loopback is much more reliable than a room microphone for beat, key, and spectral analysis.
